Canucks vs. Blackhawks: Twitter Reaction, Postgame Recap and Analysis

The Chicago Blackhawks?(13-0-3) topped the Vancouver Canucks (8-3-4) in a shootout to emerge victorious at the United Center on Tuesday night by a score of 4-3.?

This win ties the Blackhawks for the best start in NHL history, as they have yet to lose in regulation this season.

Scoring chances came early and often during the first period, as the Blackhawks found themselves with multiple breakaway opportunities to start the game, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Daniel Sedin started the scoring for Vancouver after netting a backhander for?the lone goal of the first period.

Marian Hossa scored two of the Blackhawks' three second-period goals, which gave the Hawks a 3-1 advantage going into the third period.

Chicago's lead lasted until late in the final period, but the Canucks answered back with two goals of their own in the final three minutes?off the sticks off Alexander Edler and Kevin Bieksa.

Those goals sent the game into overtime.

Both teams had plenty of chances to score the game-winner in the extra period, but nothing came of those opportunities, and that forced a shootout.

Patrick Kane started the scoring with a goal after Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider's glove guided the puck into the net. Christopher Higgins answered right back to tie up the shootout score at one.

Andrew Shaw wasted no time responding and flew at the net with great speed to roof?a backhander that proved to be the game-winner for Chicago. Ray Emery made a glove?save on Vancouver's final chance of the shootout to seal the deal.
